Yarrabilba/ Village Development

(1/1)

Villager:
Has anyone got any views on the Yarrabilba project? It has its own web site www.yarrabilba.com not much there but interesting anyway. BSC also have a space dedicated to the plan.

Do people realize that there is 300 home sites to be eventually placed on the land adjoining the bridge and waterford/tamborine road?

I understand the lions have been told that 15 mts is going to be taken from the park for roadway widening through the village.. if you thought it was hard getting out of the shopping centre now its only going to get worse. I thought there was a plan to direct traffic out of the village via some sort of bypass road?

Yep, sure do... I think they call it "progress".

Although those 300 homes cover an area between that road and Stockleigh road, so they won't be a super tight squeeze, but they certainly ain't 20 acre blocks, are they ?

Yeah, it's a problem getting out of the shopping centre, but that's primarily due to the ignorance and self-centeredness of several people who choose to turn right out of the driveway near the BP, and choose to sit in a position so that those who want to turn left towards the roundabout can't get through and have to wait.
I just don't understand why those who want to head south from the shopping centre don't use the roundabout, not only is it quicker, but it is a whole lot safer.

As far as the Lions park losing 15 metres, I can only assume that's why they set most of it up as far back as they possibly could ?

I've heard some vague stories about a bypass for the village, but the only options that I've heard about will certainly upset those living in Storey road, and I can't ever seeing that happening in my life time.

As far as Yarrabilba is concerned, I think this is something we'll have to live with, as I can't see any legitimate reasons that could be used to block the development permanently. I think this is where we need to accept it's development, but under certain criteria that we should be working as a community to set.
